Our fearless leader, Clay, started The Bond Agency in 1991 as an affiliate of First Delaware Insurance Company, when he recognized a need for a Surety Bonds Only Agency in Delaware that could help small contractors typically underserved by the market. He brings 35 years of experience in the Insurance Industry, as a Claims Manager, Underwriter, Agent, and Broker.  He is a father of three, avid golfer, and enjoys hiking and kayaking. When he isn’t spending time outdoors, you can find him cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies and the WORLD CHAMPION Philadelphia Eagles! Clay’s favorite thing about working at The Bond Agency is helping a new contractor obtain their first bond, and working hard to bond over One Hundred Million Dollars in contracts each year. Clay is also best known around the office for playing “Africa” By Toto on Maximum Volume every Friday at 4:25pm to celebrate the end of the work week.
